FAQ
What is PRP for hair loss?
PRP for hair loss is a non-surgical treatment that helps to reduce thinning of hair, baldness, and can slow the progression of future hair loss.
How does PRP for hair loss work?
Platelet-rich plasma is injected into your scalp. Platelet-rich plasma is a natural substance found within your blood. Once drawn, the PRP is separated from red blood cells in a centrifuge (spinning machine). PRP contains growth factors that help to increase blood flow and nutrients to the treated area.
What is a PRP hair loss treatment like?
First our Skincare Technician will draw your blood. The blood is placed into a centrifuge to spin which separates the PRP (platelet-rich plasma). A numbing agent is placed on the scalp. The PRP is then injected into the scalp using a microneedling (SkinPen) to push the platelets into the skin.
How long is the treatment?
The treatment takes a total of approximately 60 minutes.
How many PRP treatments are recommended for hair loss?
We recommend 4 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.
